Jetblue flight attendant Steve Slater goes AWOL, jumps off plane

JetBlue Airways logo Category:Airline logos

Steve Slater, a flight attendant with Jetblue Airlines, went a little off on a flight 1052 arriving from Pittsburgh to New York's JFK Airport, and after an argument with a passenger over a piece of overhead luggage that fell on that person's head, got on the PA system of the plane, told all of the passengers what to do with themselves, launched the exit chute of the Boeing 757, and jumped out of the plane.

To add insult to injury, Steve Slater reportedly took some beer from the aircraft galley with him. Slater, who lives just 15 minutes from JFK, was supposedly just trying to get home and away from whatever stress caused him to just go off. Here's the news video:

George Garwood, one of Steve Slater's neighbors, thinks the event is funny, but this space does not.

Air travelers rely on flight attendants to be calm, cool, and collected because if there's an emergency, passengers have to turn to them for proper instructions. Steve Slater's actions means he doesn't at all take seriously the fact that he's responsible for hundreds of lives as much as the pilots are.

Throw the book at him, but also at JetBlue for causing whatever work conditions led to Steve Slater's going off.

More on this coming.

This Flight attendant should have been sent out for further training. We all have our bad days, but does not give you the right to put other people in jeopardy.

Remember this, you represent your company...If you don't like your job find another one and stop your ********.

If your going through problems talk to someone, vent it out.

Imagine what he would have done if the plane was in Flight. There are so many possibilities of something going disastrous.. What if your Kids or your loved ones were on a flight that crashed or something went fully wrong because of someones bad day!

He should be fully charged, He shows no remorse on TV with his stupid sarcastic smile. Yes, there are customers that should get told off or a beating. Trust me there has been times I wanted too, but I brushed it off... Like I said, If you don't like your life or your job do something about it STOP your ********!

What's its going to be next time? A flight attendant brings a gun aboard and decides to shoots all the passengers??

Further more, No tolerance to nasty rude customers! Refund there tickets and take a bus!

JetBlue should sue him for revenue lost. Passengers should sue him for terrorising them on a federally controlled business..
