I found this picture on the iReport front page, right where one could not miss it at the time - it may have rolled down off the front page by now.  I'm surprised no one from CNN tagged it "On CNN" but on second thought, I can understand why CNN hasn't touched it yet.  


But yes, the man on the left in the photo below is none other than Barack Obama's now famous chief speech writer Jon Favreau,  who has the same name as Iron Man director Jon Favreau , but in a different pose.  He's obviously having a great time with a cut-out photo statue of Senator and now Secretary of State-Designate Hillary Clinton.  I don't know who the guy on the right wearing the "Obama Staff" shirt and kissing the cut-out is.

On Monday, President-Elect Barack Obama introduced Senator Hillary Clinton as his choice for Secretary of State.  It was a brilliant move for several reasons that I discuss here:  CLICK

President-Elect Barack Obama just introduced his Foreign Policy / National Security Team today in Chicago .  At the helm is Vice President-Elect Joe Biden, and the real surprise for some, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as Secretary of State, then Eric Holder as Attorney General, Susan Rice as Ambassaor to the United Nations, Ret. General Jim Jones as head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, current Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and Arizona Governor Janet Nepolitano as Director of Homeland Security.  


That Clinton is there at all is a testiment to Obama's determination to have a strong voice and a rival in that position.  It's also speaks to the Clinton hunger for power and recognition in the 21st Century.  In other words, to continue to be a relevant player on tbe World scene.  It also marks the return -- however indirectly -- of former President Bill Clinton to the White House.  Say what you will, but this is the first former President to have been returned to the White House to help serve a new President.  It makes Bill within easy access to President Obama and strengthens Obama's hand on the World Stage: he's got someone considered by some to be the "President of The World" on his side.  


Will former-President Clinton upstage his Secretary of State wife?  Well, a little bit, but that will be tempered by the fact that the Clinton's do work as a team -- they're a couple.  The entire "affair" will be fun to watch.  


If you're keeping score regarding these appointments today, we have three women, two African American, and one Republican and all well-qualified.  Not bad for a day's work, President-Elect Obama.  

Sen. Hillary Clinton Introduces Al Franken For Senator - Minnesota

The full speech of Senator Hillary Clinton introducing Al Franken. who's running for Senator in Minnesota, isn't online yet, but it should be -- Franken and Clinton gave great speeches.

Franken's taking on Republican incumbent Norm Coleman and is ahead in a poll Rassumsen conducted on October 9th, 43 percent to 37 percent. A more recent poll by the Minn Times Star Tribune has him at 3 points, 39 percent to 36 percent.

None of this has reduced the sense of humor of Franken. At today's rally, after a rousing speech by Senator Clinton, Franken took the podium and said "When we decided to run for Senate, Franni (his wife) and I, I said, "And Franni, I'm going to be the Senator," then turned to Clinton with a wry smile.

It was pretty funny to me, though I'm not sure Clinton got the full "yuk" out of it.

Oh well.

Rezko Letter To Court Clears Obama - P.U.M.A Up To It's Old Lies

I happened upon a blog post by some member of "Party Unity My Ass" (P.U.M.A), the small group of sickos who couldn't get over Senator Barack Obama beating Senator Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primary.  For some of these folks it's like someone forgot to tell the Vietnam P.O.W. that the war was over.  


Now, this P.U.M.A guy is way out on left field trying, hoping, begging to make a connection between Obama and Real Estate Developer Tony Rezko that's not there.  In fact, he goes so far as to make a link asserting a connection because of a letter that it's apparent the author thinks people aren't going to read!  


I read the letter itself and the it's obvious that the P.U.M.A writer was fashioning a lie... 

It reads "Your honor the prosecutors have been overzealous in pursuing a crime that never happened.  They are pressuring me to tell them the "wrong" things that I supposedly know about Governor Blagojevich and Senator Obama.  I will never fabricate lies about anyone else for selfish purposes..."

For prosecutors to take on such an activity in itself is criminal and if it's not -- I think it may be -- it should be.  That's using an investigation with the taxpayers money to take on a political agenda, in effect having taxpayers pay for a set of lies established to achieve a political objective.  In this case, blaming Senator Obama for something that did not happen.  


Watch these PUMA nutcases -- that's what I think they are.  That's why I put this out, to head off P.U.M.A action.
