The New York Post reports that Naomi Campbell is hurt by people saying she is lying.
Naomi Campbell said she had nothing to gain by lying.
Campbell also said the term "blood diamonds" did not exist back than when she got the gift delivered to her. By the way were the people working hotel security interviewed about letting two strange men up to the super model's room? Security for super models tends to be very tight.
I posted this comment on The New York Post website:
Celebrities, politicians and rich people are used to people praying at their altar and they are clearly above the law. It is hard to believe Naomi Campbell was only aware of apartheid but completely ignorant of war lords and dictators responsible for mass murder, torture and rapes....She was not in the least curious who this guy was and where he got his diamonds?
To my blog readers I would add this...
In my opinion she had a lot to gain by lying but she has to live with herself and she has to look at herself in the mirror. I would not trade places with her for billions.
As I have said in my two previous postings the global audience owes her a big thank you bringing attention to mass murder, rapes, torture by dictators but remember Charles Taylor says he is innocent. Maybe years ago there was no name "blood diamonds" but it was known these diamonds helped fund terrorism.
Can someone explain to me why Taylor was invited to Nelson Mandela's function in the first place? How could no one at the event seem to know who Charles Taylor was or care to even find out. If you click on either of my links for previous postings on this issue and read the powerful and brilliant interview on NPR you will learn so much and be aware of plenty of people that knew, suffered and survived. Hard to believe everyone at that function was clueless re: Charles Taylor. Click on my links above and read the NPR interview -- you will never forget it.
Below a quote from The Telegraph:
"Also present was Charles Taylor – who a month earlier had been elected as president of Liberia. Mr Mandela's soon-to-be wife Graca Machel was reportedly concerned by the presence of Taylor – a controversial figure even then, who had famously campaigned on the slogan "He killed my Ma, he killed my Pa, but I will vote for him."

I have said this about New York politicos -- "denial is the new crack cocaine". This applies to celebrities and super models that think they are above the law and guess what mostly they are right....they get to walk away over and over.... Naomi will be walking herself back to the runway.
Naomi Campbell testified that she accepted some uncut diamonds (or what she called "dirty looking stones") after attending a dinner with Charles Taylor, but claims she did not know what they were or who they were from -- is that credible? www.celebrityjournal.org
ReplyDeleteIt is your call. My opinion is Naomi Campbell is not telling the truth and she could care less. She left to go party in Italy. Truth and empathy are not her strong points and clearly African dictators might hold her interest if they have big shiny diamonds but Taylor only had little dirty diamonds.
