In April, when the San Diego Unemployment Examiner contacted NELP (National Employment Law Project) and asked their position on a Tier 5, their response was: “As soon as we get the extensions passed in Congress for the non-99ers, then we will put our efforts toward fighting for a Tier 5 extension.”
Today, 6 months later and nearly 3 months after the non-99er extension bill was passed (HR 4213) NELP is once again ramping up to fight for, you guessed it - an extension of the deadline dates for the non-99er UI extension.
NELP has been silent and worthless in the fight for a Tier 5 extension and that is something every 99er should vocally protest by contacting NELP in droves.
In an email titled: New and Improved Website Launches Campaign to Continue Federal Jobless Benefits, NELP introduced their website www.Unemployedworkers.org to “to mobilize grassroots support for the campaign to ensure that the federally expanded unemployment lifeline continues at a level that matches the needs of ALL of the long-term unemployed.”
The website advertises a new petition for only the more recently unemployed. Nothing on this new website even refers to the desperate need for the 99ers to get a Tier 5. This is deplorable and NELP needs to hear from you.

It's useless to even complain anymore. This country sucks. I've 3 months behind on my bills and don't even care anymore. I just can't find work and have no money. Screw life!

The Democrats take all seats – it will allow Debbie Stabenow to put forth a Tier V TAX ALL TRADE COMING IN FROM COMPANIES WHO ABANDONED THE USA – AND GIVE INCENTIVES TO COMPANIES WHO HIRE PEOPLE WHO ARE OVER 40 AND OVER QUALIFIED!…….America will finally see lots of spending going on an companies will need to hire more people to keep up with the demand!

The Republican take over the house and senate = no extention = worse deeper recession(because not enough money is circulating for what is allreading built)= Millions more MAD/ANGRY VERY DESPERATE 99ers = lots of crime rallies and kaos = CIVIL WAR_ FINANCED BY ILLUMINATI, FREEMASONS, ITALIAN MAFIA, MEXICAN MAFIA KGB, ASIAN MAFIAS, COSTA NOSTRA, MANA NEGRA AND LOTS OF MUSLIM MIDDLE EASTERN TERRORIST GROUP and any other groups with an incentive to attack the government & filthy rich = OBAMA HAVING NO CHOICE BUT TO JOIN THE 99ERS AND SUBMIT TO US!…..and create NEW WORLD ORDER!....= one currency = chip in ever bodies forehead making it impossible for him to buy or sell without one!
I cannot for the life of me believe that any unemployed person who is struggling to survive would ever vote for the same party that put you into that position! I have come to believe that people just do not know how congress works. Being a political science student from the 80’s, it can become very complicated to understand. This is the reason our children need better educations so they do not make the same mistakes many people will this november! The unemployment extensions have been extended these past two years only by Democrats, with a very hard fight for us. We do not need to abandon the very party of hope for us! The party of NO will not give you another extension, once they gain control. They will return to the same old policies that got us into this mess in the first place. They do not want to help the middle class and the poor! They are outsourcing jobs to this very day after we the taxpayers have bailed them out. Remember, president Obama did not give the first bailout, and this recession is not something that can be fixed in two years. Our president spoke those very words while campaigning for president. There are issues that have come up in congress that needed to take first place over the unemployment issue. If you understood anything about this country and congress you would fully know that our Democracy was at stake and still will be once the Republican party takes control. Our president has done what takes priority. We have a welfare system in this country, and each and every unemployed person could have and should have taken advantage of that system if you ran out of benefits and are still waiting for an extension! No excuse!! We will get our extension if the Democrats keep their seats and gain some. But I would rather keep my children safe from terrorist, and apply for welfare for a short time while the president takes care of our country! Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia sending money to the Chamber Of Commerce to help fund our elections? Come on people, use your heads, our country is at stake here, and people that want to vote Republican because they are pissed off are going to be the beginging of the end for our children and grandchildren. These Republicans are not like the Republicans of the past! They want money, they dont care if you and your children go hungry and live in the streets! They want big oil, say goodbye to Green energy and Green Jobs! They want a tax break for them, the rich, the 2% of the richest people in this country rather than pay their taxes and give the unemployed the money until this recession is over!!! Think people, research people, and do it well and get your facts straight! Think outside the box of an unemployment extension for one moment and look at the whole picture! You will never get your extension if you vote Republican, and for that matter maybe not even your social security when you want to retire! They do not care about you! They want to take everything from you and line their pockets with money so their families can live the life of luxury. The Republicans are radicals this term! The tea party candidates are just plain unqualified to run our Democracy! Research people, because this election is the card that decides whether we win or lose everything!!! I know who I voted for during the presidential campaign and after the mess he was given, I believe we are on the right track, and you will get your extension if his party keeps their seats and even gains seats!! They Passed the Health Care Bill and The Stimulus Bill with out the help of the Republicans. And I might add behind closed doors.But they can't seem to Pass a TIER 5. Bull
The Dems just want our vote, they don't care about us eighter. They could Pass any Bill right now but won't. Do you know how many times Harry Reid said NO to a Tier 5 because he couldn't get all his add ons into the Bill. He should of suggested a Stand Alone TIER 5 Bill.
OBAMA, HARRY REID and NANCY PELOSI could get a TIER 5 passed but do you notice they won't even talk about it?
Here in Reno, Nevada we have 10 thousand Men, Women and CHILDREN living on the streets because our shelters are full and WINTER is coming. This is so sad that they don't care.
Nevada is has the highest Unemployment in the Country, were at 14.4 %, the highest foreclosure in the Country, and the highest Bankruptcy.
You tell me what our Senate Leader Harry Reid has done for US. NOTHING.
I would rather have the Republicans win, give the wealthest 2 % their tax credit ( which they will get around any ways and always have ) so we can have JOBS. The wealthest are afraid of the Bush tax cuts not passing and Obama health care they won't create jobs.
Did you know that what ever your employer contributes to your health care plan you must claim in 2011 on your taxes as added income, and if you are lucky enough to have a home/land/etc.
and should sell it you will be taxed another 3.8 % and all this goes to OBAMA Health Care Plan ? OBAMA plan stinks and we are paying for it befor it even goes into effect and that isn't until 2014.
