Is Tom DeLay Out Of Touch Or Just Plain Stupid?

I'm watching MSNBC's Hardball and Chris Matthews has two Republicans on his show: Michelle Wallace who played a key message-crafting role in the McCain Campaign last year, and former Representative Tom DeLay. I'm sitting here totally dumbfounded over DeLay's insistence that former President Bush was "innocent" of blame for our current economic disaster.

Indeed, PBS's Frontline has a great series on this called "The Meltdown" which places blame for our current wave of bank failures right in the lap of them-Secretary Henry Paulsen, who famously let his own idiological moorings get in the way of good policy, when he refused to put the Government in position to buy Lehman Brothers thus causing a wave of failures that extends to today. According to Frontline, Paulsen was getting advise from Republicans to let businesses fail, and that's what he did.

What Paulsen didn't count on was a wave of market failure such that on September 18th, 2009, the American Economy as we know it came close to a complete death. Paulsen was placed in a role he didn't want or agree with, making government work rather than doing nothing. He failed.

Now, here we have DeLay out there on Hardball and Chris Matthews does an at best feckless attempt at countering Tom's claim that President Bush had nothing to do with this. Meanwhile when Matthews does take him on, he resorts to a quote in the Wall Street Journal.

Give me a break.

Chris Matthews Attacks Bloggers; My Vlog To Chris Matthews

According to The Huffington Post, MSNBC's Chris Matthews tried to make "Bloggers" a perjorative on his show when he denounced Bloggers as a source for news. This is what was written:

Earlier in the segment Matthews speculated that the 'personal problem' that was given as Kennedy's reason for withdrawing was her marriage to Edwin Schlossberg. But when Benjamin said that the "affair question" was surfacing on blogs, Matthews abruptly cut her off: "Let's stick to journalism. I don't do that here. If it's just blogging let's drop it."

Chris does not understand the term "Blogging" or that journalists can blog to, thus my video:

Just how crazy is Michelle Bachmann?

Michelle Bachmann, Republican woman in Congress from Minnesota, gained notoriety on Friday when she said all liberals in Congress should be investigated for being anti-American, Joe McCarthy-style. Well, turns out she has a very long history of saying and doing downright insane things.

Todd Harris - GOP McCain Strategist On Palin's Mistake That Could Come

Todd Harris, who was Senator John McCain's communications director, said to Chris Matthews "If she goes out and makes a mistake, that will be something that will haunt them for a long time" in response to the current (as of this writing) situation where Governor Palin has not adressed questions from the political press.

Here's the video:

It's as if they have to put training wheels on Palin or something. Yikes!

Rep. John Murtha Thinks Hardball's Chris Matthews Should Be Senator

At an event U.S. Rep John Murtha said that he believed long-time political pundit MSNBC and former San Francisco Examiner Columnist Chris Matthews would make a great Senator

To me, that would mean the loss of a great political pundit.
