David Westin, ABC News President for 13 years, has announced his resignation and will leave his staff by the end of 2010.

Westin just recently turned 58 and says his reason behind the
resignation is so that he may pursue other opportunities. He has come to the conclusion that after 13 years of being the longest-reining U.S. television network news division chief it is time for him to move on.
"This is the right time for me," Westin wrote in a
staff memo given to the Associated Press.
