Sarah Palin Said To Be "Defying McCain Aides" - Remember My Video "Palin Stabbing McCain in The Back?"
Today, Politico's Ben Smith has an interesting top story (which I first saw at the Huffington Post) charging that Alaska Governor and GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin is "defying aides", specifically going against the message of the heads of the campaign and establishing internal divisions. All to the point of setting herself up for a brighter future in politics. Remember my video on this? I called it weeks ago:
McCain Campaign Has Paid Staff It Calls Volunteers - Was Ashley Todd Paid?
This video by The Uptake is about Florida McCain workers they call volunteers who have been paid, even though the staff in the video said they have unpaid volunteers. Also two McCain staffers harrass the reporter. My question is was Ashley Todd a paid staffer and not a volunteer?

Watch NFL : Watch Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis live
The Tennessee Titans (6-0-0, 1st AFC South) are the last undefeated team left standing in the NFL, having ridden the wave of a strong running game and suffocating defense to the top of the league hierarchy. Titans have been awesome this year after taking down the six teams including Jacksonville (week1), Cincinnati (week 2), Houston (week 3)

McCain Supporter Ashley Todd Made Up Story About Being Attacked
The blogsphere was abuzz with a story that a McCain supporter was attacked by a black man because she, well, supported Senator John McCain for President. A photo got out and went international that had Ms. Todd with a black eye and a kind of red "B" branded into her right cheek.
Even as it went out, some expressed skepticism, of all and unexpectedly, the clumsily right-wing blogger Michelle Malkin called it early:
And yep, she made it up. She said she was attached at an ATM; cameras didn't pick up her image at the ATM. The "B" on her face -- as you can tell -- is backward, as if someone (her?) stamped it on her face in the mirror.
Here's a general rule, folks. Anytime a woman, and more specifically a European American woman claims that she's been attacked by a Black man and that incident is tied to a major event such that it would give her a lot of attention, your best counter-action is to disbelieve the story until a lot of credible evidence comes in.
Why? Simple. She elected to drag negative images of Black men into her claim. That's done so much -- seriously -- that it in itself should be a crime. I think Todd believed she would get more attention by saying that and of course the police reacted to her cries for justice.
Now they're pissed and she's being charged with making a false police report -- and maybe more. Not a good situation for this 20-year old woman. Which begs the question: she's just 20; what kind of parents and friends does Todd have in Texas that would cause her to want to point a false finger at Black men?
That's the unanswered question.
Even as it went out, some expressed skepticism, of all and unexpectedly, the clumsily right-wing blogger Michelle Malkin called it early:
I’ve reported on the great lengths that warped attention-seekers have gone to in perpetrating fake hate crimes, including beating themselves up, carving swastikas on their dorm room doors and walls, locking themselves in bathroom stalls, and burning down their own houses.
Which is why I’m not jumping up and down with outrage over Drudge-promoted story of a McCain volunteer claiming to have been attacked by a black man whom she accused of carving a “B” in her face after spotting her McCain bumper sticker.
She refused medical treatment after reporting the incident to police. Why on earth would she do that?

In an interview for his upcoming movie "Quantum of Solace", Daniel Craig -- who plays James Bond -- picks Barack Obama over John McCain as the better James Bond:
I finally ask this British actor a deeply American question: “Who do you think would be the better James Bond—Barack Obama or John McCain?”
Craig doesn’t hesitate. “Obama would be the better Bond because—if he’s true to his word—he’d be willing to quite literally look the enemy in the eye and go toe-to-toe with them. McCain, because of his long service and experience, would probably be a better M,” he adds, mentioning Bond’s boss, played by Dame Judi Dench. “There is, come to think of it, a kind of Judi Dench quality to McCain.”

Jets Left it on the Field
Jets left it on the field By TJ Rosenthal for Football Reporters Online
The Jets invented yet another way to blow a game Sunday. This, coming in the form of a clumsy tight end. Not even the legendary Bret Favre, who has been pedestrian for much of this season, or shall we say has turned into a Jet, could rescue them. Favre's brilliant last minute heroics, highlighted by his patented escape from a game ending sack in his own end zone, set the Jet's up for a last second FG. The first 52-yard attempt by Jay Feely (former 2nd round pick Mike Nugent's injury replacement. Second round? Thanks a lot Terry Bradway, for wasting an early round pick on a kicker in '05, then stepping down as GM) hit the left upright. Yet, thanks to a Raider time out, you know the one where the coach calls it RIGHT before the kicker lets loose? That ploy is starting to backfire a lot now throughout the league, giving the kicker a chance at redemption. Yesterday, the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets got a second chance. Moments later..Bang!! Right through. Game tied. Heading for Overtime.
Thus setting Jet fans up for yet another head between the seats crash landing destined for oblivion. A heartbreaking loss was sure to be on the way. The question was, how? The moment came halfway through OT. Favre, avoiding the determined yet tiring Raider rush, stepped up in the pocket to find a wide-open Chris Baker at the Raider 35. With a catch Baker may have found five to ten yards of running room thus leaving the Jets with a first down and within 45-yard FG range. Instead, Baker seemingly tripped on a yard line. All by himself. Didn't need anyone's help to do it. Falling helplessly to the ground, the ball and the Jets chance at stealing the win sailed past him. Soon a punt ended the drive. You can't fault Baker. He's a career Jet. For six years the Gang Green disease has built up around him. Rearing its ugly head yesterday as the opportunity to keep pace with the 5-1 Bills came and went in a flash.
Minutes later, Sebastian Janikowski brought his monster leg onto the field to bury a monster field goal that was kicked from Mars and had enough to make it to Mercury. In the end, it was the Same Old Jets. The faces change; the final chapter is the same. A winnable game against a beatable team followed by a gut wrenching loss. Now 3-3, the Jets find themselves in a familiar place. Desperate for a win before Halloween even gets here.

Palin Doesn't Get That We're In Economic Trouble
I just watched CNN's Drew Griffin's interview with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and I've got to briefly share that she doesn't get the economic problem we're in.
On the matter of the Bailout plan and our financial problems, Palin fears that it would be used as a reason to "spend" and to have "big government" and that the "private sector" would be forgotten.
Man.
Memo to Governor Palin: it was the private sector that created the problem we're in.
Geez.

The Stanford Roundtable - What Makes A Great Leader?
YouTube featured this video that's over 90 minutes long, but worth every minute of it. It's of a speaker conversation held at Stanford University's Maples Pavilion called "The Stanford Roundtable" and featured Historian David Kennedy, professor emeritus, Kavita Ramdas, CEO Global Fund for Women, U.S. Rep. Xavier Becerra, D-Los Angeles, Stanford President John Hennessy, Associate Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, Carly Fiorina, former head of HP, and Jeff Raikes, CEO of the Gates Foundation.
Inspite of the fact that Florina represents the McCain / Palin campaign and Anthony Kennedy is a conservative Supreme Court Justice, the event was not partisan. It was essentially about what great leaders are and what we need as a leader in the next President of The United States.
Sen. Hillary Clinton Introduces Al Franken For Senator - Minnesota
The full speech of Senator Hillary Clinton introducing Al Franken. who's running for Senator in Minnesota, isn't online yet, but it should be -- Franken and Clinton gave great speeches.
Franken's taking on Republican incumbent Norm Coleman and is ahead in a poll Rassumsen conducted on October 9th, 43 percent to 37 percent. A more recent poll by the Minn Times Star Tribune has him at 3 points, 39 percent to 36 percent.
None of this has reduced the sense of humor of Franken. At today's rally, after a rousing speech by Senator Clinton, Franken took the podium and said "When we decided to run for Senate, Franni (his wife) and I, I said, "And Franni, I'm going to be the Senator," then turned to Clinton with a wry smile.
It was pretty funny to me, though I'm not sure Clinton got the full "yuk" out of it.
Oh well.
