CNN Not On Clinton Media Enemies List

The New York Times reports that The Clinton Campaign -- we can refer to them in capital letters -- has a media enemies list that includes Matt Drudge, MSNBC, including Keith Oldermann (no surprise there), and Chris Matthews (some surprise there), but I noticed no mention of CNN or anyone connected with Cable News Network.

This confirms my assertion that CNN has long been a supporter of the Clinton campaign. Indeed, one could state that CNN had been an ememy of the Obama Campaign, and long to support him.

They're in trouble now!

Obama VP Vetter Jim Johnson Steps Down

It was just announced on several TV Networks that Jim Johnson, the Washington legend picked to help find a VP candidate or set of them for Barack Obama, has just stepped down. This after revelations that Johnson took a set of loans from Countrywide Financial, which has a bad mark on Washington for their involvement in the sub-prime lending controversy.

I think that's a great move and stops a small problem, but a problem, for the campaign. Apparently, he got a good loan deal because of his relationship with the firm's CEO.

But also Johnson had good credit to get that loan to start with.

Johnson did nothing legally wrong. It's all politics. But hey, look at John McCain's VP vetters. I think one of them had problems with the Federal Elections Commission.

Opps!

John McCain Says That Number Of Troops In Iraq Not Too Important

In a statement that's due to cause the self-swiftboating of his presidential campaign, Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain just stuck his foot in his mouth on, of all places, The Today Show, said to host Matt Lauer, that the number of troops in Iraq was "Not Too Important."

What!?

Tell that to the parents and lovers of the soldiers over there. Tell that to those who wonder when they will ever be able to come back home. Tell that to American who fear the loss of more lives!

That's totally nuts. Look, yeah, I'm for Barack Obama, but I had respect for John McCain. Now it's wanning. That was a terrible thing to say.

White Women And Obama - Tim Wise' Open Letter On Counterpunch

White Women And Obama - Tim Wise' Open Letter On Counterpunch

Tim Wise, a contributor to the website "Counterpunch", wrote a great column essentially taking any "White Woman" to task for stating they will vote for McCain over Obama, stating
"You are not thinking and acting as women, but as white people. So here's the first question: What the hell is that about?"

And then masterfully following with:
"And you wonder why women of color have, for so long, thought (by and large) that white so-called feminists were phony as hell? Sister please...

Your threats are not about standing up for women. They are only about standing up for the feelings of white women, and more to the point, the aspirations of one white woman. So don't kid yourself."

You've got to read the whole thing. But what I do find really troubling is to what degree we allow open racism to be expressed without challenge. Racism is a proven mental illness that should not be tolerated. It wrecks economic development, causes the inhuman treatment of people, and harms even the very people who practice it, which is why it's a mental illness.

This election does come down to this: if you're intelligent at all, you can see people as individuals, and vote for Barack Obama. If you're not smart at all, and tend toward racism or racist thought, you're going to back McCain.

It's that simple.

Gary Vaynerchuk Gets Kidnapped By Melissa Pierce - Why Do I Care?

Ok. I now know who Gary Vaynerchuk is, but it took an email directed at me to get my attention regarding a blogger -- like me -- from what turns out to be a directed press release to me to not only know that Gary Vaynerchuk was kidnapped by Melissa Pierce of "Life In Perpetual Beta" (LIPB) but to realize that, first, I didn't care, but then I did.

For a different reason.

It is a study in what web communications professionals can and will do to gain your eyeballs. This one -- their effort -- cost at least $100 to do because they used WebWire.com and no, this is not an ad for that.

But in the blogsphere, almost everthing is an "ad" even if it's just the expression of an idea. Like this one: does Melissa or Gary know anyone of color? Would love to see some people of color in their videos! But since I've never seen Gary's stuff, what do I know?

But I've seen Melissa's...

Something else I discovered is I like the way Melissa's site is designed and laid out. But I also realize I need to go back to "three minute vlogging." Not that I ever stopped, just haven't done it much. I like using video to help others tell their stories. And I like to use video to help make a difference, like getting Senator Barack Obama elected President; I'm not sure LIPB does that or even will be at the DNC Convention.

But it's interesting!

If you're concerned about choice, don't jump the Democratic ship

Obama supporters have been developing strategies for appealing to ardent Clinton supporters to not jump the Democratic ship after the strident primary season that led to Obama's nomination. Most, and I would be pressed to say all, Clinton supporters are pro-choice and therein, perhaps, lies our best argument. In John McCain, they will find no safe harbor. For the best discussion I've seen to date on this issue, head over to The Carpetbagger Report and check out Why pro-choice Dems have nothing to like about John McCain. And if reproductive choice is of any import to you, use your vote in November wisely.

Bigotry On John McCain's Website: Hillary Clinton A "Bitch; Obama A "Muslim Fag"

AMERICAblog's John Aravosis uncovers major bigotry over at John McCain's website, including references to Senator Hillary Clinton as a "bitch", Senator Barack Obama as a "Muslim Fag" and America bringing 9/11 on itself.

Plus, the JedReport shows that other John McCain forums have Obama referred to using the "N" word.

This is not who we want representing America as President. Because John McCain and his staff allow this on their websites, you have to believe they agree with it.

Apple WWDC 08: iPhone SDK, OS X iPhone 2.0, iPhone 3G y MobileMe

Well, less than one year -- well, ok, a few months -- after I paid $400 cash for my iPhone, Apple and Steve Jobs announce the release of a new iPhone 3G that's faster and at half the price!

So what do I do with my current iPhone? Can I do a trade? And Mobile Me sounds promising as a way to make things easier in the mobile space.

Bill O'Reilly Producer Porter Barry Ambushes PBS Bill Moyers Then Gets Ambushed

During the 2008 National Conference for Media Reform, Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly producer, Porter Barry ambushes PBS Bill Moyers to pepper him with questions regarding his political affiliations and his "refusal" to appear on O'Reily's show. Moyers disputes Fox's "facts."

In the process of the discussion, journalists surround Barry, then give him the same ambush treatment he gave to Bill Moyers.

As the video made by "The UpTake" will show, Barry can't take it when it's aimed at him. Also, I personally don't like Bill's "Jump The Shark" methods of late. It's obvious they need the ratings help. This stunt will not improve things.
